After
the remarkable success of their run in the 2005 Le Mans 24
Hours, RML returned in 2006 with an even stronger and better-prepared
package. Fastest LMP2 entrant in the official pre-race test,
and quicker by almost three seconds than anything achieved
by the car in 2005, RML's MG Lola EX264 approached the 74th
running of the Vingt Quatre Heures du Mans carrying
the weighty expectations of being hailed as class favourites.
In the end, their challenge lived up to expectations, and
with a strong driver line-up that included former Le Mans
winner Andy Wallace, Mike Newton and Thomas Erdos repeated
thair remarkable class win. With speed and reliability from
the AER-engined MG Lola EX264, they swept through to win by
