RML EX257 on Show at Wicksteed Park. Issued September 10th 2007

RML a big hit at Brit-Car Rally 2007

RML’s 2004 MG-Lola sportscar was one of the stars of the show at the 2007 Brit-Car Rally at Wicksteed Park, Kettering, on Sunday (September 9).

The Wellingborough-based racing and automotive specialists brought an immaculate EX257 chassis to the event - the same car that competed in the 2004 Le Mans 24 Hours (right) and Le Mans Endurance Series.

Crowds flocked to have their picture taken with the car, with many lucky youngsters and adults taking the opportunity to sit in the confined cockpit of the high-tech endurance racer. They were also able to pick up some RML goodies, with information cards, stickers and posters for bedroom walls and memorabilia collections proving extremely popular with visitors of all ages.

The event, which is organised by a group of motoring enthusiasts, saw cars from famous British marques like MG, Jaguar and TVR help to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation UK.

The Brit Car Rally set the scene for the start of a big week for RML. The sportscar team is heading for the world-famous Silverstone circuit next weekend with its MG-Lola EX264 chassis, and hoping to clinch the 2007 Le Mans Series LMP2 Championship at this historic venue. Together with drivers Mike Newton and Thomas Erdos, the team has won the previous two races at the Nurburgring in Germany and at Spa-Franchorchamps in Belgium. The two RML drivers now have a seven point lead over the Portugese ASM Team in the championship rankings.

Tickets for the 1000km of Silverstone are available from www.silverstone.co.uk, so come along and help cheer RML to success.
